The procedure described herein outlines the
determination of total dissolved solids in water samples by
gravimetric analysis..
Principle
Water samples of known volume are evaporated at 175°C
in a pre-weighed beaker and the dry weight is recorded. The measured
weight change is the total dissolved solids in the volume of sample.
