SAL are delighted to announce that Angela Sharples has joined the team in Scotland in the key role of Business Development Manager. A graduate in Environmental Biology, Angela has some 6 years experience in developing laboratory services in response to contaminated land and water requirements.
Angela comments “I am really excited about SAL's investment in Scotland and am looking forward to being part of this well established and quality driven team operating from a local facility. The new facility demonstrates a long term commitment; its flexible design means that we can easily accommodate large assignments and the changing needs of our clients.”
A new, spacious facility is at present under construction at Langlands Place, East Kilbride to replace the existing laboratory at Law Place. This will provide twice the existing floor space and is purpose designed to provide a streamlined flow of samples through reception, preparation, analysis and reporting. Deliverance of an efficient and quality driven service to clients together with a very modern, and healthy environment for its staff to work in will be ensured.
The move is expected during April 2011. Having the experience of successfully re-developing 3 of its other laboratories in England, SAL are confident that usual service will be maintained during the move.
East Kilbride is one of five, UKAS accredited laboratories (Manchester, Cambridge, Braintree and N. Ireland), operated by SAL. Each strategically located laboratory provides a highly client focussed service to organisations within its area.
UK Business Development Manager: Bill Cohen says “Angela and the new laboratory are yet another addition to the SAL organisation of a totally independent and therefore client focussed testing services in the environmental and food related sectors of industry.”
